MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 2004 - Sea Kayaking
You couldn't ask for a more beautiful day to sea kayak on Casco Bay, near Portland, Maine's waterfront. Our guide took us over ship wrecks, past civil war forts, and knew quite a bit about the local wildlife.
For access, take the $6 ferry over to Peaks Island. Though lunch is provided, pack some Cliff Bars, bring plenty of water, and sunblock. The rest of the essentials are on the Maine Island Kayaking Web site.
The folks at MIKCo were very friendly and accomadating. This is something I can see myself doing on a regular basis, and I've already got my eye on this kayak.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 17, 2004 - Trite
On occassion, I still hear things like "think out of the box" or "the Internet is the future." Aside from the assumption that one can first think within a box, and that mainstream usage of the Internet is reaching the decade mark, some things take a while to reach middle-aged office ladies.
But girlfriend, you're still all that and a bag of chips.
